The Sea of Cortez is a gentle sea, in contrast to the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the peninsula. There are no riptides here, and swimmers of all ages can enjoy the water year-round. The beaches are vast, extending north and south for miles, with myriad coves punctuating long stretches of sandy shore. As the water is warm, one can spend hours swimming, snorkeling, beachcombing, settling in with a good book, or meditating over a lingering sunset. As we are located directly on the beach, it’s an easy stroll down the steps onto the beach. To the north one finds lovely private coves with alternating black and white sand, and perfect black “hot massage” stones for a private massage. To the south one might first encounter dive and snorkel boats launching from the beach; and then, beyond the modest bustle, the softest, smoothest white sand and a bay as calm as a bathtub.
